Sun position in December

In December, the Northern Hemisphere experiences the winter solstice, which marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. The sun follows a very low path across the sky, resulting in shorter daylight hours and weaker, more diffuse sunlight. This creates long shadows and cooler temperatures.

In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the summer solstice, with the longest day of the year, and the sun at its highest point in the sky, bringing strong, direct sunlight and longer daylight hours.
